ShopByVideo takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. We keep it plain English — no legal maze.

1. What We Collect

We collect information you give us directly and information generated by your use of the platform:

Account data — name, email address, profile photo, and role (creator or brand).
Payment data — billing and payout details handled entirely by Stripe. ShopByVideo never stores your card number or bank details.
Content — videos you upload as a creator, bounty details you post as a brand.
Usage data — pages visited, features used, timestamps, and device/browser type.
Communications — any messages you send to our support team.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

Create and manage your account.
Process payments and payouts.
Match creators with relevant bounties.
Send transactional emails (confirmations, payout notifications, password resets).
Improve the platform through usage analytics.
Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for ad targeting.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following trusted providers to operate the platform:

Supabase

Database, authentication, and file storage. Your account data and uploaded files are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Privacy policy →

Payment processing and creator payouts. All card and bank account data is handled directly by Stripe and subject to their privacy practices. Privacy policy →

Mux

Video hosting and streaming. Videos you upload are stored and delivered via Mux's infrastructure. Privacy policy →

Google (OAuth)

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from your Google account. We do not receive your Google password. Privacy policy →

4. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly without them.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data.
Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure — please use a strong, unique password and sign out of shared devices.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised.
